Afshin Ellian is a Professor of Jurisprudence at Leiden Law School, where he also serves as Head of the Department Jurisprudence and Deputy Academic Director of the Institute for the Interdisciplinary Study of the Law. His work focuses on the legitimacy and effectiveness of law in multilevel jurisdictions, intersecting with areas like political Islam, multiculturalism, and militant democracy.
