Adrienne Héritier is a Professor at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, within the Political and Social Sciences Department. She previously held positions at the Max Planck Project Group, University of Constance, and University of Bielefeld, and was Chair of the European Association for European Union Studies (EUSA).

Research interests focus on public policy, Institutionalism, and European governance. Her work examines institutional change, regulatory policy, and democratic accountability in the EU. She has explored new modes of governance, co-decision mechanisms, and comitology in European institutions.

- 1994 Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz Prize (jointly with Helmut Willke)
