Adriano Tomassini is a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematical, Physical and Computer Sciences at the University of Parma, Italy. He serves as Director of the Department since December 2020 and Director of the Interuniversity School of Mathematics since January 2018. His academic career includes positions as University Researcher (1996-2002), Associate Professor (2002-2011), and Full Professor (2011-present) at the University of Parma.

Tomassini earned his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Florence in 1997 under Prof. Paolo de Bartolomeis, following his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the same institution in 1992. His academic journey began at the University of Palermo before moving to Parma.
His research focuses on complex geometry, symplectic geometry, and the study of almost complex structures. He has made significant contributions to understanding cohomological properties of complex manifolds, special geometric structures, and the ∂∂¯-lemma. His work bridges theoretical mathematics with applications to mathematical physics, particularly in the study of Calabi-Yau manifolds and their generalizations.
Analysis of his recent publications reveals a sustained focus on Bott-Chern cohomology, Dolbeault harmonic forms, and geometric structures on solvmanifolds.
