Adrianne Griebel-Thompson is an Assistant Professor & Extension Specialist at the Margaret Ritchie School of Family and Consumer Sciences, University of Idaho, within the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences. Her research focuses on optimizing infant and toddler development through nutrition, particularly addressing dietary factors influencing early childhood growth. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas Medical Center (2022), an M.S. from the University of Wyoming (2019), and a B.S. from the University of Northern Colorado (2015).
Her work integrates maternal dietary practices, environmental exposures (e.g., fluoride, iodine), and prenatal nutrition to inform public health strategies. Key areas include infant formula composition, maternal urinary biomarkers, and interventions for high-risk populations. She leads the ADORE study on maternal fluoride levels and has contributed to pilot studies on kimchi consumption and rural prenatal care gaps.
Publications emphasize translational research, such as analyzing infant formula sugar content and linking maternal sugar consumption to child dietary habits. She collaborates with University of Idaho Extension to bridge academic research and community health initiatives.
