Adriana Lacerda is an Associate Professor at the School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, University of Montreal, and a Research Director at the CRIUGM. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Audiology) from the University of Montreal (2007) and prior training from Brazil. Her work focuses on optimizing psychosocial variables like quality of life, social participation, and hearing health prevention. She leads the Laboratory in Hearing and Aging and has secured over $1.8M in grants.
**Education**: PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Audiology), University of Montreal; M.Sc. in Communication Disorders, Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná (Brazil); B.Sc. in Speech-Language Pathology, Brazil.
**Research Interests**: Hearing health in aging populations, prevention of noise/age-related hearing loss, stigma reduction, and public health equity. She co-leads the Caroline Durand Chair in Hearing and Aging.
**Grants & Projects**: Includes cinEXmedia: Ensuring Well-Being in the Screen Age (2022-2030, $2.5M), Child/Adolescent Hearing Loss Prevention (2022-2024), and Social Isolation Interventions in Côte-des-Neiges (2019-2023).
**Teaching**: Courses AUD-6251/6252 - Promotion and Prevention in Audiology. Supervises students in the Professional Master’s in Audiology program.
