Adriana Festeu

Dr. Adriana Festeu is a Principal Lecturer in Classical Music at the Royal Academy of Music, where she also serves as Head of Year. A versatile mezzo-soprano, she performs internationally in opera, lieder, and oratorio, with notable roles at institutions like the Romanian National Opera and Garsington Opera. Her research focuses on vocal classification, culminating in a performance-led PhD thesis titled Exploring Zwischenfach: Understanding Vocal Classification and Its Professional Significance (2016).

Research Interests: Specialisms include Classical Voice, Opera, Oratorio, Art Song, and Voice Classification. She continues to present her findings at global conferences, emphasizing the professional implications of vocal categorization.
