Adrian Randolph

Adrian Randolph serves as Dean of the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Art History at Northwestern University, a position held since July 1, 2015. Previously, he was Associate Dean of the Faculty for Arts and Humanities, Chair of the Department of Art History, and Director of the Leslie Center for the Humanities at Dartmouth College.

Randolph's research centers on medieval and Renaissance Italian art and architecture, employing an interdisciplinary methodology that synthesizes visual analysis with science, literature, social history, and gender studies. His work explores cross-cutting themes including humor, race, Native American art, and science visualization, demonstrating consistent boundary-crossing scholarship.

He has authored, co-authored, or edited eight books alongside numerous articles and reviews. Randolph contributes to academic governance through service on the international advisory board of Art History journal and the University Press of New England, reflecting institutional leadership beyond his Northwestern role.
