Adrian Pop

Adrian Pop is a Professor of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Sciences, National University of Political Science and Public Administration (NUPSPA) in Bucharest. He serves as a Ph.D. supervisor in Political Science, Chair of the Romania Node of The Millennium Project, and Director of the Centre for Regional and Global Studies within the Romanian Scientific Society for Interdisciplinary Research.

Education:

• Ph.D. in History from Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca
• MA in Political Science from Central European University, Budapest
• Diploma with Honours from the International Academy of Broadcasting

His research focuses on International Relations, geopolitics, security and defense, Cold War history, and history of historiography, particularly addressing the Black Sea region, East-Central, and South-Eastern Europe. His publications include books such as The Fall of the Soviet Empire: 'Lessons' in Retrospect and A Phenomenology of Romanian Historical Thinking.

Scientific Awards

• George Barițiu Prize (2012) for his 2010 book The Origins and Typology of East European Revolutions

Adrian has coordinated and participated in numerous research projects under international organizations, including the European Union, European Commission, International Organization for Migration, and NATO Defence College. He is also affiliated with the Peace, Action, Training and Research Institute of Romania, Centre for Applied Policy Research in Munich, and the World Futures Studies Federation.
