معرفی
Adrian Jäggi is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine, University of Zurich, where he also serves as Vice Director and Head of the Human Ecology Group. His academic career includes positions at Emory University (2016-2018) and postdoctoral research at UC Santa Barbara. He holds a Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology from the University of Zurich (2010).
His research focuses on the evolution and ecology of human and primate behavior, with specializations in behavioral ecology, cooperation evolution, socio-endocrinology, and life-history theory. Fieldwork has included studies of the Tsimane’ people in Bolivia and primate species like bonobos and baboons. He employs comparative phylogenetic methods and Bayesian statistics to analyze socio-ecological factors influencing behavior across species.
Key research themes include oxytocin’s role in social behavior, reproductive skew comparisons across mammals, and the evolutionary basis of cooperation. His work bridges anthropology, biology, and medicine, with recent attention to evolutionary perspectives in psychiatry and neuroimmunomodulation.
Dr. Jäggi has contributed to teaching tools like the Mummy Explorer online platform and emphasized interdisciplinary approaches to understanding health and behavior. While no specific awards are listed, his publications reflect significant contributions to evolutionary medicine and anthropology.
