معرفی
Adrian Callaghan is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London, part of the Faculty of Engineering. He holds the Royal Society Shooter International Research Fellowship. His affiliations include the Earth Observation Network, Grantham Institute, and Marine and Coastal Environments groups.
He earned his Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from the National University of Ireland, Galway (2003–2009). Prior to his current role, he held positions at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography as a postdoctoral researcher and Assistant Project Scientist.
His research focuses on air-sea interaction, specifically physical exchange processes at the ocean-atmosphere interface, including air-entraining breaking waves and turbulence dynamics in response to wind stress, buoyancy fluxes, and wave breaking. Key interests span fluid dynamics and small-scale environmental processes.
- Awards: Royal Society Shooter International Research Fellowship
- Advising: Actively seeks motivated students/researchers in ocean waves, air-sea interaction, and fluid dynamics. Grants and funding details are not explicitly stated here.
He leads a research group exploring marine and coastal environments, with affiliations to interdisciplinary institutes like the Grantham Institute for climate change and environmental sustainability.
