Adonis Antoniades is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Finance at Northeastern University. His expertise spans finance academia, central banking, and machine learning research. He holds a PhD in Economics from Columbia University, an MBA from the Cyprus International Institute of Management, and advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley and the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
His research focuses on banking stability, liquidity risk, and the intersection of law and finance. Notable work examines the U.S. commercial banking sector during the Great Recession, exploring how liquidity and real estate risks influenced lending and solvency. He has also contributed to machine learning research, particularly in adversarial agent systems and navigation algorithms.
Antoniades has published in top journals like the Journal of Banking and Finance and the BIS Quarterly Review. His career includes roles as an economist at the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), where he advised senior management on banking policies.
