Adnan Qureshi is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Newman University. Previously, he held academic leadership roles including Associate Professor and Head of Department (Computer Science) at the University of Central Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan (2016–2023), and Assistant Professor roles at other Pakistani institutions. He holds a PhD from the University of Bedfordshire, UK, with research focused on medical image analysis, adaptive learning systems, optimization techniques, and artificial intelligence.
His administrative roles include leading departments and establishing research collaborations in healthcare informatics, adaptive learning, and AI. He has supervised numerous PhD, M.Phil., and undergraduate students in areas like medical image segmentation, deep learning, and computer vision. Qureshi is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and holds a patent for a hypermedia-based learning system (2022).
Research interests span AI applications in healthcare, including medical image analysis (e.g., MRI, X-ray), adversarial robustness of neural networks, and adaptive educational hypermedia. He has led projects funded by the EU and The Punjab Group, and his work appears in top journals like IEEE Access, Springer series, and CMC-Computers & Materials Continua.
Key contributions include developing AI frameworks for disease diagnosis (e.g., lung nodules, breast cancer), federated learning for medical data privacy, and blockchain-based secure cloud computing. He directs the Centre for Applied Data Analytics (CADA) and has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles.
