Dr. Adnan Mahmood is a Lecturer in Computing (IoT and Networking) at Macquarie University's School of Computing. His roles include affiliations with the Future Communications Research Centre and Smart Green Cities Research Centre. His research focuses on IoT, Software Defined Networks, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Trust Management, Privacy Preservation, and Federated Learning. He has published 50+ papers in top journals/conferences like ACM Computing Surveys and IEEE Transactions series, and holds a research patent.
Research interests encompass machine learning applications in privacy preservation, federated learning optimization, and resilient network designs for IoV and SIoT ecosystems. His work addresses challenges in trust quantification, differential privacy, and secure vehicular communication. Recent publications explore synthetic data generation for cross-modal retrieval, fairness in federated learning frameworks, and novel trust management heuristics for connected vehicles.
