Adnan Kastrati

Prof. Adnan Kastrati is a Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the TUM School of Medicine and Health, Technische Universität München. He currently serves as Senior Consultant and Deputy Director of the Clinic for Cardiovascular Diseases at the German Heart Center Munich (DHM), where he leads the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and directs the ISARESEARCH Center. His research focuses on optimizing treatments for acute coronary syndrome, developing advanced drug-eluting stents, and improving antithrombotic therapies.

Education:

• Medical degree (1979) and habilitation (1988) from the University of Tirana, Albania.
• Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship at Heidelberg University and TUM.

Research Interests:

Prof. Kastrati’s work emphasizes evidence-based strategies for myocardial infarction management, novel stent technologies, and personalized medicine through genetic/biochemical markers. He has pioneered studies on revascularization timing and anticoagulant protocols in interventional cardiology.
