Admela Jukan is a Chair Professor of Communication Networks at TU Braunschweig, Germany, leading the Chair for Communication Networks within the Institute for Computer and Network Engineering. Her academic journey includes roles at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS), Georgia Tech, and a tenure as NSF Program Director. She is an IEEE Fellow and has received numerous awards, including the IBM Innovation Award and BMBF/CELTIC Excellence Award.
Education: Dr.tech (summa cum laude) from TU Wien, M.Sc. from Politecnico di Milano, and Dipl.-Ing. from FER Zagreb. Research focuses on network protocols, edge computing, IoT, optical networks, and animal-computer interaction. She leads EU-funded projects like MARE and MANOLO and serves as Editor-in-Chief for the Journal on Optical Switching and Networking.
