Aditi Bhatnagar is an academic staff member at the University of Oslo, specializing in Solar Physics. Her research focuses on high-resolution observations of the solar atmosphere using ground-based and space-based instruments like the Swedish Solar Telescope (SST) and Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). She holds a BS-MS dual degree in Physics from IISER Kolkata (2015–2020), with a thesis on solar active regions' properties during solar cycle transitions under Prof. Dibyendu Nandi. Her work examines dynamic solar phenomena such as Ellerman bombs and their impacts on the solar chromosphere and transition region. She is involved in projects like ISSRESS, investigating small-scale reconnection events in the solar atmosphere.
- Education: BS-MS in Physics (IISER Kolkata, 2020)
Her research interests span observational solar physics, plasma dynamics, and solar cycle evolution. Recent publications analyze magnetic topology of Ellerman bombs and their UV signatures, as well as transition region responses to these events. Ongoing projects aim to understand solar atmospheric processes through multi-wavelength observations.
Aditi’s work contributes to advancing our understanding of solar phenomena critical for space weather forecasting and fundamental plasma physics.
