Adema Ribic

Adema Ribic is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia, affiliated with the Program in Fundamental Neuroscience. Her research focuses on the intersection of systems and behavioral neuroscience, specifically investigating how neural circuits assemble and adapt to environmental experience.

Her lab employs cutting-edge techniques like in vivo electrophysiology, 2-photon imaging, and gene expression manipulation in rodent visual systems to explore synaptic learning mechanisms. Recent publications reveal a strong emphasis on SynCAM 1 in synaptic organization, critical periods of neuroplasticity, and developmental impacts of preterm birth on cortical processing.
