Adel Baselizadeh is a Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Informatics, affiliated with the RITMO Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Rhythm, Time and Motion. His research focuses on robotics, reinforcement learning, control systems, and privacy-preservation in human-robot interaction. He holds a postdoctoral position and contributes to projects like the Predictive and Intuitive Robot Companion (PIRC) initiative. His work spans adaptive robotics control, ethical AI frameworks, and multimodal human activity recognition in care environments. He collaborates with institutions like the IEEE and ACM on human-robot interaction studies, exploring topics such as motion synchronization and social robotics norms.
Key projects include developing the PriMA-Care dataset for privacy-aware healthcare robotics and investigating senior adults' reactions to robot handshakes. He is part of the Robotics and Intelligent Systems (ROBIN) research group, advancing ethical and technical aspects of robotics through interdisciplinary approaches.
