Adam Scott Wandt is an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Deputy Chair for Technology of the Department of Public Management at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system. He serves as a member of the graduate faculty in both the Master of Public Administration and Master of Digital Forensics and Cyber Security programs.
Professor Wandt holds a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law (2005), an M.P.A. from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (2002), and a B.A. from the same institution (2000).
His primary research interests focus on the intersection of technology, law, and public policy. He specializes in cybersecurity, digital forensics, information security, OSINT investigations, cryptocurrency investigations, darknet markets, IoT technology, and privacy law. Professor Wandt has worked extensively with government agencies including the FBI, Department of Justice, Interpol, and the United Nations on technology-related issues.
His scholarly work demonstrates expertise in analyzing darknet markets, digital evidence in legal contexts, cybersecurity policy, and the implications of emerging technologies on law enforcement and privacy. His research often addresses practical challenges faced by law enforcement and regulatory agencies in the digital age.
Professor Wandt has received several prestigious awards including:

- The Ribaudo Award for Academic Excellence (2010)
As a practicing Attorney and Counselor-at-Law in New York, Professor Wandt provides consulting services in digital investigations, information security, and cyber law. He is Co-Chair of the New York City Bar Association's Committee on Technology, Cyber, and Privacy Law and serves as an instructor for the Association of Inspectors' General, developing curriculum for digital evidence and social media investigations.
