Adam Roberts is an Instructor in the Department of English at the University of Alabama. He holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Leeds (2016), an M.A. in Literature and Publishing from the National University of Ireland, Galway (2011), and a B.A. in English from the University of Montevallo (2007). His research explores identity representations in literature, with a focus on the Nietzschean concept of the Mask in the works of Hermann Hesse and W.B. Yeats. He has taught in diverse international settings, including Shenzhen, China; Nashville, Tennessee (with refugees from Somalia and Ethiopia); and England, specializing in world literature, film, and composition.
His teaching portfolio at the University of Alabama includes courses such as World Literature 1 and 2, American Literature 2, and English Composition 1 and 2. His scholarly interests span Comparative Literature, African-American and American literary traditions, Medieval and Renaissance studies, and Digital Humanities, with a commitment to interdisciplinary critical theory.
