Adam Mazur is a photography critic, theorist, art historian, and Americanist affiliated with the University of Arts in Poznań's Faculty of Photography since 2013. His academic work focuses on photographic history, theory, and Central European visual culture. He has published extensively on Polish and Central European photography, including monographs and curated exhibitions.
Research interests include photographic history, photobook analysis, and contemporary art practices. His publications, such as The Mutilated World (2019) and Depth of Field (2014), explore Polish and Central European photography's evolution, with keywords spanning Art History, Photographic Theory, and Digital Imaging.
Scientific awards include the Father Szczęsny-Dettloff Award, Jerzy Stajuda Award, and Gloria Artis distinction. Mazur has edited multiple photography magazines, including co-founding SZUM (2013–2018) and BLOK (2018–present), collaborating with students on publications like postmedium.art and polishphotobookreview since 2018.
