Adam Elliott-Cooper is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Politics and International Relations at Queen Mary University of London. He holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford and has previously worked at UCL, University of Warwick, and King's College London.
His research examines racial capitalism, state racism, and anti-racist social movements, with particular focus on policing and postcolonial theory. Elliott-Cooper employs interdisciplinary approaches combining geography, sociology, and political theory.
His publications focus on institutional racism, colonial continuities in policing, and strategies of Black resistance. Works consistently analyze power structures through intersectional frameworks.
Elliott-Cooper serves on the board of The Monitoring Group, an anti-racist organization challenging state violence. He frequently contributes to public discourse through media appearances and podcasts discussing policing reforms.
