Adam Diesner

Adam Diesner is a composer and conductor affiliated with the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where he serves as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Conducting, Composition and Music Theory. He is also an active participant in the Doctoral School of the Academy since 2021 and recently completed a research internship at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome (2024).

His educational background includes:

Diesner's creative work spans diverse musical landscapes, from grand orchestral compositions to electronic and stage music. His research focuses on integrating Kashubian folklore into contemporary composition, exploring how traditional Kashubian melodies and language phonemes create distinctive musical sequences. He has developed a unique approach to cultural musical synthesis that bridges regional traditions with modern classical forms.

Diesner's compositional output shows a clear trajectory toward international recognition, with works increasingly performed at prestigious venues across Europe and beyond. His recent compositions demonstrate sophisticated integration of traditional Kashubian elements with contemporary compositional techniques.

His significant awards include:

• GRAND PRIX at the Franz Schubert International Music Competition (2023)
• Multiple prizes at the World Music Championship in Vienna (2023)
• 3rd prize in the 5th European Composer Competition in Vienna (2022)
• Earlier successes including prizes in the Stanisław Moniuszko Composition Competition (2018) and Henryk Hubertus Jabłoński Composition Competition (2015)

As a scholar-artist, Diesner has secured prestigious funding including scholarships from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2017/2018 and 2018/2019) and the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship (2016/2017). From 2016 to 2022, he served on the board of the Youth Circle of the Polish Composers' Union. His artistic representation is handled by Marika Koasidis.

Diesner's compositions have been performed internationally at venues including the Philharmonie Luxembourg, Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome, Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk, and during the International Festival of Contemporary Music 'Warsaw Autumn,' establishing him as a significant voice in contemporary European composition.
