Dr. Adam Cossette is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical & Anatomical Sciences at NYITCOM-Arkansas, affiliated with Beck College of Sciences & Mathematics at Arkansas State University. His research focuses on vertebrate paleobiology, integrating phylogenetic comparative methods, functional morphology, medical imaging, and geometric morphometrics to study biodiversity and evolutionary trends.
His work examines reptiles, particularly early members of Crocodylia, through naming new fossil species, exploring evolutionary patterns, and analyzing biotic responses to climate change and environmental disruptions. The Crocodylia clade's robust fossil record and genomic data enable combined morphological and molecular approaches for phylogenetic hypothesis testing.
