Adam Ciszkiewicz

Adam Ciszkiewicz is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Mechanics and Biomechanics, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Cracow University of Technology. He has been professionally affiliated with the university since 2016, initially as an assistant and later as a research and teaching assistant professor.

• Graduate of Stanisław Wyspiański High School No. 8 (Krakow)
• Master of Science in Automation and Robotics (2014) at Cracow University of Technology
• Doctorate in Technical Sciences (2017) in the discipline of mechanics, focusing on human spine triad modeling
• Habilitation in Mechanical Engineering (2025) for complementary methods in uncertainty analysis

Research Interests: His work centers on quantifying the impact of input parameter uncertainty in mechanical models, particularly applied to human musculoskeletal structures like the knee joint and spine. He employs multi-body modeling, genetic algorithms, and artificial intelligence, including neural networks and metaheuristics, to automate medical procedures and orthopedic analyses.

Scientific Contributions: He has authored or co-authored 26 Scopus-indexed publications, including 18 JCR journal articles and 7 monograph chapters. He has conducted over 40 peer reviews and participated in 17 national/international conferences, such as MULTIBODY 2023 and the European Society of Biomechanics Congresses in 2015, 2017, and 2024.

Grants & Collaborations: He received the Bourse France Excellence: SSHN research scholarship in France (2025) for studying human joint models in orthopedics via genetic algorithms. Since January 2025, he leads the Polish side of the Polonium project (funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange), collaborating with Prof. Raphaël Dumas (France) and Prof. Miroslav Vorechovsky (Czech Republic).

Teaching & Student Mentorship: He teaches courses such as Computer Modeling of Biomechanical Systems, Scripting Languages in Bioengineering, and Biomechanical Systems, and has supervised 36 diploma theses, including one in English under the Erasmus program. He co-authored 8 scientific articles with students, two of which are in JCR journals.

Labs & Teams: He collaborates with research teams at Warsaw Military University of Technology, Wrocław University of Technology, Université Gustave Eiffel (France), and Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic). His international partnerships include ongoing work with Prof. Dumas (France) and Prof. Vorechovsky (Czech Republic).
