معرفی
Professor Achim Rosch is a prominent theoretical physicist at the University of Cologne's Department of Physics, where he leads the Institute of Theoretical Physics. His research spans multiple major collaborative projects funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), including serving as speaker for the Collaborative Research Center SFB 1238: Control and Dynamics of Quantum Materials.
Dr. Rosch's research focuses on quantum phenomena in condensed matter systems, particularly quantum phase transitions, topological materials, and non-equilibrium physics. His work investigates complex transition metal compounds, quantum spin systems, and the behavior of materials under extreme conditions. He has made significant contributions to understanding non-Fermi liquid behavior, Kondo physics, and the control of topological defects like Skyrmions.
Among his notable achievements is receiving the prestigious Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Programme award in 2013, one of Germany's highest research honors. He plays leadership roles in multiple large-scale research initiatives including the Cluster of Excellence ML4Q (Matter and Light for Quantum Information) and the Bonn-Cologne Graduate School in Physics and Astronomy.
Throughout his career, Professor Rosch has led or participated in numerous DFG-funded projects including Emmy Noether Junior Research Groups, Priority Programs, Transregios, and Collaborative Research Centers, demonstrating sustained excellence and leadership in theoretical condensed matter physics.
