Prof. Dr. Achim Oberg is a Professor of Sociology with a focus on Digital Social Science at the University of Hamburg since July 1, 2020. He is also affiliated with the University of Mannheim's Institute for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (ISME) and Chair of Entrepreneurship and SMEs, where he previously worked as a research assistant and moved through multiple institutions including Karlsruhe University of Technology and RWTH Aachen University.
His research interests include Organizational Theory, Social and Semantic Network Analysis, and Digital Social Science. He has undertaken extended research stays at Stanford University's Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research.
He co-founded Plattform GmbH, specializing in intranet/internet software for small and medium-sized organizations. Memberships include the German Academic Scholarship Foundation, Society for Computer Science, European Group of Organizational Studies, and Academy of Management.
