معرفی
Dr. Abraham Tucker serves as Chair of the Department of Biology and Associate Professor of Biology at Southern Arkansas University. He holds the Embree Professorship and leads research in evolutionary genomics. His expertise spans comparative genomics, mutation dynamics, and the genomic consequences of asexual reproduction.
Education:
- B.S. in Biology, University of Southern Maine (2003)
- Ph.D. in Genetics, University of New Hampshire (2009)
- Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Biology, Indiana University (2009–2013)
Research Focus: Dr. Tucker investigates forces shaping genome evolution, including mutation rates, natural selection, genetic drift, and recombination. His lab integrates fieldwork, molecular biology, and bioinformatics to study genomic adaptations in asexual organisms and population structure.
Labs/Teams: Students in his lab engage in organismal field collection, live-culture maintenance, molecular lab techniques, and genomic data analysis. Current teaching includes Genetics, Evolutionary Biology, and Genome Evolution.
Awards: Embree Professorship (endowed chair).
