Abraham J. Koo

Abraham J. Koo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Missouri's College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR). His research focuses on plant hormone jasmonate-mediated defense signaling and plant lipid metabolism, with applications in agriculture and sustainable pest control. He also leads STEM education initiatives through NSF-sponsored programs like Sci-LiFT and Sci-FEST, aimed at training future science educators.

His work combines mass spectrometry, genomics, and interdisciplinary approaches to study plant stress responses and metabolic engineering, particularly in crops like Arabidopsis and Camelina sativa.
