Abraham Chin Chang is a Professor of English & Modern Languages at Taylor University, serving as Director of On-Campus International Programs, Korean Initiatives, and the Upland Sejong Institute. His academic roles include former Department Chair (2015–2020) and Director of the Korean Program. He holds a PhD in Romance Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin, an MA in Spanish Linguistics from Instituto Caro y Cuervo, and a BA from Korea University.
His research focuses on applied linguistics, Spanish syntax, second language acquisition, and comparative language structures. Notable works include studies on vocabulary acquisition methods, language proficiency classification, and syntactic analysis of determiner phrases in Spanish, English, and Korean.
Dr. Chang has received the Doctoral Dissertation Award (2004) and the Professional Development Award (2003). He has presented at conferences such as the Texas Linguistics Society and the Interdisciplinary Conference in the Humanities.
