Abigail Stocker is a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), expected to graduate in May 2025. She will join the College of William & Mary as an Assistant Professor of Economics in August 2025. Her research focuses on applied microeconomics, with specialties in development, labor, and gender economics, addressing topics such as environmental economics, education, and poverty reduction.

Teaching Experience
Ms. Stocker has served as an instructor for ECON 490 (Fall 2022–Spring 2024) and a teaching assistant for ECON 202 across multiple academic terms at UIUC. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes student engagement and practical application of economic principles.
Research Interests
Her work bridges development and environmental economics, analyzing how climate extremes and policy interventions affect travel demand and socioeconomic outcomes. Current projects explore transportation pricing mechanisms and their implications for vulnerable populations.
Future Roles
Starting 2025, she will contribute to William & Mary’s economics department, continuing her interdisciplinary research agenda and pedagogical innovations.
