Abigail Perkiss is a Professor of History at Kean University in Union, NJ. Her scholarship focuses on civil rights, urban history, and oral history methodologies. She is co-editor of the Oral History Review and has authored influential works such as Hurricane Sandy on New Jersey’s Forgotten Shore and Making Good Neighbors: Civil Rights, Liberalism, and Integration in Post-WWII Philadelphia.
Her research explores intersections of disaster response, social integration, and historical narratives in 20th-century urban contexts.
