Abida Haque is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Computer Science at North Carolina State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from NC State in 2023, an M.S. from Georgia Tech (2017), and a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University (2010).
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, North Carolina State University (2023)

Haque's research focuses on cryptography, particularly in managing user anonymity, decentralizing trust, and improving security definitions for cryptographic schemes. Her work addresses gaps in ring and group signatures, multi-party computation, and post-quantum security. She has contributed to advancements in logarithmic-size threshold ring signatures and accountable anonymity frameworks.
Her publications demonstrate expertise in cryptographic protocols (ring/group signatures, threshold signatures), post-quantum security, and trust decentralization mechanisms. Key trends include developing scalable privacy solutions and formalizing security definitions for decentralized systems.
In teaching, Haque employs semi-flipped classrooms with YouTube lectures, guided note-taking, and student-written exams. She teaches courses like CSC 116 (Java programming), CSC 226 (Discrete Mathematics), and advanced topics in computer science. Prior to academia, she worked at the Navy Nuclear Power School creating multimedia educational materials.
