Abhinav Krishnan, Ph.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Foundational Medical Studies at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB), where he also serves as the Associate Dean of Admissions and Enrollment Management. His academic and administrative work is deeply rooted in medical education, physiology, and public health, with a focus on improving access and equity in medical training and healthcare delivery.

Dr. Krishnan's research interests span cardiovascular function, neural control during exercise, biostatistics, machine learning, and community-based participatory research, particularly as they relate to underserved populations and population health. His work bridges basic science with public health applications, emphasizing health equity and social determinants of health. He is also certified in diversity and inclusion and holds a K-12 Michigan teaching license, reflecting his commitment to education across levels.
Dr. Krishnan is actively involved in national and institutional service, including roles with the American Physiological Society’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Trinity Health’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), and multiple Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) national committees and initiatives such as the Center for Health Justice, Promising Practices in Admissions, Holistic Review, and PREview. These engagements highlight his leadership in shaping equitable medical education policies and practices.
