Abhay J. Dhond is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and Clinician Educator in the Internal Medicine Primary Care Residency Program at the Yale School of Medicine. He holds academic appointments in the Department of Medicine and contributes to both clinical care and medical education.
Dr. Dhond's education includes an MBBS (1983) and MD (1986) from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, followed by a Master of Public Health (2001) from Yale School of Public Health. His clinical expertise spans internal medicine with a focus on geriatric care and anticoagulation management.
His research interests encompass cardiology, thrombosis, hospital-acquired infections, and medical education innovation. Notable studies include investigations into Osborn waves in hypothermia patients, lipid metabolism during hospitalization, and anticoagulation practices in elderly populations.
