He investigates socioeconomic determinants of cancer outcomes, radioprotective agents (propolis, Nigella sativa), and dosimetric comparisons of radiotherapy techniques. His work bridges clinical applications, biological mechanisms, and health disparities.
Recent publications (2022-2023) reveal trends in personalized radiotherapy approaches, biomarker-driven treatment response prediction (particularly FDG PET for bone metastases), and sociocultural influences on cancer prognosis. Key themes include optimizing radiotherapy protocols for gastrointestinal and gynecological cancers while addressing accessibility barriers.
He has supervised two theses:
- Derya Çağlayan (2016): Socioeconomic factors in young breast cancer patients
- Kudret Bektaş (2016): Dosimetric comparisons in gastric cancer radiotherapy
Dr. Kuzhan is an active member of the Turkish Radiation Oncology Association since 2013 and teaches graduate courses in Radiation Physics, Radiobiology, and Dosimetry.
