Dr. Abdul Wahid is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham, Dubai campus, UAE. He is actively involved in research and academic supervision within the field of computer science and networking technologies.
His research interests focus on cutting-edge areas in network systems and intelligent computing, including:
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Wireless and Underwater Sensor Networks
- Software Defined Networks (SDN)
- Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs)
- Application of Machine Learning in Networking
These interests reflect a strong interdisciplinary approach combining AI with communication systems and distributed sensor architectures.
Dr. Wahid has extensive experience in supervising postgraduate research students, including PhD and MPhil candidates, as well as guiding undergraduate research projects. This demonstrates his commitment to academic mentorship and research training.
He earned his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Kyungpook National University, South Korea, in 2013. Additional academic qualifications include a BSc in AI and Computer Science, an MEng in Computer Science and Software Engineering, and an MSc in AI & Machine Learning.
