Abdul M. Choudhury

Dr. Abdul M. Choudhury is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Prairie View A&M University, located in Texas, USA. He is affiliated with the Structural Engineering and Construction Materials Laboratory, where he conducts research on structural retrofitting, seismic performance, and fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) applications in reinforced concrete structures.

His research interests are deeply rooted in structural engineering, particularly focusing on the retrofitting, rehabilitation, and repair of concrete structures. He explores the size effect on structural elements under cyclic loading, the use of FRP composites for strengthening deficient structures, and numerical modeling of beam-column joints. His work aims to enhance the safety and longevity of infrastructure in seismic regions.

Dr. Choudhury has contributed significantly to the field through both experimental and analytical studies. His recent publications emphasize the use of servo-hydraulic actuators, strong floor, and reaction wall systems for dynamic testing. His collaborative work includes a $1.7M NSF-funded project titled "DUE-IUSE: Transforming the Classroom into an Active Learning Environment", where he serves as a Co-Investigator from 2021 to 2025.
