Dr. Abdo Kabarriti is an Assistant Professor at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, Department of Urology. He serves as Chief of Urology at Coney Island Hospital and a Staff Urologist at Kings County Hospital Center. A Brooklyn native, Dr. Kabarriti joined the Core Faculty after completing his residency at the University of Pennsylvania.

His research focuses on outcomes of treatment for lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and urethral reconstructive surgery. He has contributed to studies on nocturnal polyuria, Fournier’s gangrene reconstruction, prostatectomy outcomes, kidney stone recurrence in children, and geriatric urology complications. His work bridges clinical practice with computational analysis, reflecting his dual background in medicine and computer science.
Dr. Kabarriti’s leadership at Coney Island Hospital led to its integration into SUNY Downstate’s resident educational network. Notable publications include collaborations on nocturnal diuresis, pediatric kidney stones, and surgical considerations for aging populations. He has also co-authored chapters on aging and geriatric patient evaluation in the Primer of Geriatric Urology.
