Abderrahmen Mtibaa is an Assistant Professor and Director of Cybersecurity in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL), part of the College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Sorbonne University (Paris, France), and M.S. and B.S. degrees from the University of Manouba/ENSI in Tunisia. His research focuses on cybersecurity, information-centric networking, edge computing, and pervasive systems.
Prior roles include visiting assistant professor at New Mexico State University, research scientist at Texas A&M University, and postdoctoral associate at Carnegie Mellon University. His work spans network protocols, mobile security, IoT, and social computing, with a strong emphasis on edge computing and distributed systems.
Research interests include:
- Cybersecurity frameworks for resource-constrained edge devices
- Information-centric networking (ICN) architectures and protocols
- Collaborative fog/edge computing ecosystems
- Machine learning applications for network resilience
- Privacy-preserving data publication systems
Publications (2020-2024) emphasize edge computing innovations like CoVFeFE, SAMBA, and ICedge, alongside foundational work in NDN protocols and blockchain applications in smart grids. He actively seeks PhD students and collaborators for projects in these domains.
