Abdelaadim Bidaoui

Dr. Abdelaadim Bidaoui is an Associate Professor of Arabic and French in the Department of Modern Languages and Classics at Ball State University’s College of Sciences and Humanities. He earned his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Bidaoui’s research explores discourse markers in Arabic dialects, motivation in second language acquisition, and sociocultural factors in language use. Recent projects analyze causality and elaboration markers across Maghrebi and Egyptian Arabic dialects, sociocultural influences on Arabic language perception, and the interplay of innate psychological needs with language learning outcomes. His work bridges theoretical linguistics and pedagogical applications.
