Dr. Abdallah Salem is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide's School of Biomedicine within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. His research focuses on neurotoxic effects of amphetamine derivatives like MDMA ('ecstasy'), using advanced techniques such as in vivo microdialysis and fiber-optic temperature sensing. He collaborates with the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) to develop brain temperature measurement tools. His teaching expertise spans pharmacology, addiction studies, and e-learning initiatives, with leadership roles in curriculum design and educational technology. Dr. Salem has coordinated courses including PHARM 3012, NURSING 2010, and supervised PhD/Master's students in neuropharmacology and addiction. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Monash University.
