Abdallah Ougazzaden is Professor at Georgia Tech's School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, President of Georgia Tech-Lorraine, and Co-President of Institut Lafayette. His research focuses on MOVPE epitaxial growth of nitride/InP semiconductors and 2D materials for optoelectronic devices.
He holds 26 patents and authored 450+ publications, contributing to the first 1.3-micron semiconductor laser for fiber telecommunications. Previously, he held R&D leadership roles at France Telecom, Alcatel/Optoplus, Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies, Agere Systems, and TriQuint Semiconductor.
Major honors:
- Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur (France's highest decoration)
- Member, National Academy of Metz
- Steven A. Denning Faculty Award for Global Engagement
