Aaron Warters is a Lecturer in 2D & Stop Motion Animation at the Department of Digital Arts and Animation, part of Teesside University's School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies. He joined the institution in February 2024.
With 12+ years of experience in further education, he specializes in teaching animation techniques to diverse learners. His professional background includes freelance animation and graphic design. His research interests focus on combining traditional craftsmanship with digital methods to simplify complex concepts, particularly through stop motion animation.
Education: BA (Hons) Animation and Design from Sunderland University, Master's in Education, and current pursuit of the PGCLTHE (Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education).
Personal initiatives include developing stop motion workshops for care-experienced children to explore identity and self-expression. His work is influenced by his role as a father to an adopted son, emphasizing animation's role in societal communication.
