Aaron Richmond is a predoctoral Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) and a PhD candidate in the History and Theory of Architecture program at McGill University. His research explores the intersections of art, architecture, and medical discourses within the post-WWI French avant-garde, particularly through the periodical L’Esprit nouveau (1920–1925). At the MPIWG, he investigates the critical reception of German empathy theory in France and its relevance to human energetics as a conceptual framework for understanding avant-garde commitments.
