Dr Aaron Naden is a Researcher and Scientific Officer (Electron Microscopy) at the School of Chemistry, University of St Andrews. His research focuses on advanced materials for energy applications, including thermoelectric materials, electrocatalysts, and metal-organic frameworks. He employs advanced characterization techniques like neutron diffraction and in situ X-ray diffraction to study material properties.
His recent work explores topics such as impurity band engineering in thermoelectrics, sustainable synthesis of half-Heusler alloys, and enhancing electrocatalytic activity for CO₂ electrolysis and water splitting. He has supervised PhD student Byeongyun Jeong and collaborates widely with international researchers.
Publications span journals like Advanced Materials, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, and ACS Catalysis, highlighting contributions to energy materials and catalysis. His research themes emphasize practical applications in renewable energy storage and conversion systems.
