Aaron L. Friedberg serves as Professor of Politics and International Affairs at Princeton University, where he has taught continuously since 1987. He holds a dual affiliation with the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and co-directs the school's Center for International Security Studies. Additional professional appointments include non-resident senior fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States and Senior Advisor to the National Bureau of Asian Research.
His research concentrates on international security dynamics with specialized expertise in Asia-Pacific strategic affairs and U.S. defense policy formulation. Friedberg examines geopolitical competition through historical and contemporary lenses, particularly focusing on great-power relations and the evolution of American grand strategy in the 21st century.
