Aaron Iverson, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Studies Department at St. Lawrence University (SLU). His research focuses on agroecology, botany, and entomology, particularly the intersection of agriculture and biodiversity conservation. He investigates how farming practices and land use can enhance beneficial insects and protect ecosystems while supporting farmers' profitability.

His work emphasizes collaborations with farmers globally, such as in Malawi, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, to balance food security with biodiversity preservation. He explores social dynamics in agriculture and advocates for knowledge-sharing among farmers.
He teaches and mentors students using SLU’s Living Lab and the St. Lawrence Valley’s agricultural landscape, integrating fieldwork and community engagement. His interdisciplinary projects include collaborations with The Nature Conservancy and Malawian NGOs like Soils, Food, and Healthy Communities.
Personal Interests: Enjoys growing food, wilderness exploration, and cross-cultural engagement through language (Spanish) and global travel.
