Aabid Allibhai is a Michigan Faculty Fellow at the University of Michigan Law School, focusing on race and the law, legal history, and Black legal activism in Revolutionary New England. He is affiliated with the Michigan Society of Fellows.

His research examines how subaltern communities in the Atlantic World shaped legal culture, with a current project on Black legal and political activism in Revolutionary New England. His work on enslaved people in New England has been featured in the Boston Globe and Bay State Banner, and recognized by the City of Boston and Mayor Kim Janey.
Selected for rigorous academic support, Allibhai has received funding from the Charles Warren Center for Studies in American History, Social Science & Humanities Research Council of Canada, Center for American Political Studies, and Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. He has been honored with Harvard College’s Certificate of Distinction in Teaching twice.
