Dr. Alperen Meral is a Lecturer in the Department of Landscape Architecture at Bingöl University's Faculty of Agriculture. He holds a PhD from Düzce University and has been a faculty member since 2023, following roles as a research assistant (2013–2021) and research assistant doctor (2021–2023). His educational background includes a BSc from Karadeniz Technical University (2005–2009), MSc from Karadeniz Technical University (2009–2015), and PhD from Düzce University (2017–2021). He also completed an associate degree in GIS from Anadolu University (2020–2022).
His research focuses on landscape architecture, environmental engineering, and sustainable urban design. Key interests include erosion control, flood risk analysis, GIS applications, and agro-tourism. He has contributed to over 30 international publications and actively participates in national and international conferences.
Dr. Meral has led and collaborated on projects such as the Murat River Rehabilitation Project, Bingöl Open Green Areas Disaster Readiness Study, and Van Province Flood Control Projects. He has also authored chapters in books on sustainable landscape design and ecological planning.
He has been awarded academic incentive awards annually from 2015 to 2021. His teaching includes courses like Landscape Design II, Computer-Aided Design II, and Landscape Planning Methods.
